POSITION TITLE: Student, Engineering Support Analyst
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Vehicle Risk Analysis

**Please note this role could support only a 4-month opportunity**

SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Honda Canada Quality Engineering (QE) department, investigates quality concerns, summarizes and reports key findings. When product defects are identified, QE collaborates with cross-functional teams within Honda to develop and implement countermeasures. These may lead to changes to mass production, updated service parts, and revised dealership repair procedures. QE also communicates these improvements to Honda dealerships, providing guidance on appropriate repair methods when specific customer concerns arise. The Engineering Support Analyst becomes part of the team and collaborates on activities related to data collection, analysis, product testing, and the corresponding service bulletin reflecting the repair information.


PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support QE Engineers in querying and analyzing data related to customer feedback and potential product quality concerns.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of technical documentation and reports for internal use
• Maintain and update databases and contribute to their continuous improvement to ensure effective tracking of quality issues.
• Support the development and communication of repair procedures and service information to dealerships.
POSITION PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including component functionality, assembly and disassembly processes, and basic validation of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Good knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office, particularly Access and Excel
• Knowledge of SQL and VBA essential
• Knowledge of PL-SQL and Python (esp. in relation to loading data into LLMs) advantageous
• Strong communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and support the development of repair procedures and service information.
RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills by building and maintaining positive working relationships in a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate with QE Engineers and team members to support quality investigations and data analysis activities.
