The Canada Program Control Services (PCS) team is a specialist group of Accenture resources based in the Canada Delivery Centre providing management and control expertise to project engagements. The PCS team provides specialist skills establishing, running, and continuously improving Program Management Office (PMO) functions. PCS delivers value through consistent, repeatable processes executed by skilled individuals committed to careers in Project and Program Management. PCS emphasizes processes that conform to PMI and Accenture Methodologies and works with its resources to help attain industry standard certifications such as CAPM and PMP. Additionally, finance-related responsibilities could help candidates qualify towards CMA certification.

Job Description

The Program Control Services - PMO Analyst will support client engagements’ PMO functions through consistent, repeatable processes with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Candidates will initially specialize in one of PCS’ main capabilities (i.e. Work Planning or Financial Support) but may eventually be introduced to all of its offerings within the traditional PMO scope of services.

Key Responsibilities:

Work Planning Support: • Work Plan Management – Initial set up of work plans, coordination with team leads to incorporate updates, track actual progress, and report variances, using standard Project Management Tools (MS Project, MS Project Server, Project Web Access). Analysis of work plans for issues, variances from best practices and suggestion of corrective measures. • Work Plan Mobilization – Plan for and provision MSPS instance. Configure Project Web Access (PWA) according to project specific requirements gathered. As expertise is gained, perform initial and ongoing quality assurance checks on work plans prior to deployment and during project lifecycle. • Metrics Reporting – Generation, analysis and reporting of standard industry metrics using firm tools. Metrics are used for earned value and productivity analysis, and are a key driver for forecasting and decision making. • Microsoft Project Server Administration & Time Entry Management – Administer access for resources to PWA, Microsoft Project Server, and SharePoint. Coordination of the PWA time reporting period, and troubleshooting PWA issues. Uploading of PWA Actuals to the work plan(s) compliance reporting and follow up.

Financial Support: • Financial Forecasting and Analysis - Generate, report, analyze, and interpret project financial metrics with a focus on understanding what variables are impacting process.

Please note that this is a 6 month internship term. If the term is successfully completed it may lead into a permanent position.

Mandatory Qualifications

Skills Requirement • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas to senior levels of management • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually or as part of a larger team • Excellent time management and prioritization skills • Ability to raise issues and risks to supervisors in a timely manner • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with SharePoint • Strong preferred: Bachelors of Commerce, Finance, Economics or Accounting.• Strong attention to detail with the ability to review one’s own work • Strong leadership skills • Previous applicable experience • Pro-active personality driven to look outside of one’s assigned responsibilities and help foster continual process improvement • Ability to structure day-to-day work using a methodical, repeatable and consistent approach • Tenacity to see issue resolution through to completion • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines • A good understanding of the demands of a project environment and the flexible working hours that are required
