Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager Optimization, the Business Process Analyst (BPA) will focus on Cost Assurance (CA) processes involving Telecom spend incurred from 3rd party telecom vendors in supporting delivery of TELUS services to its customers.

Leveraging automation technologies such as GenAI and Robotic Process Automation, the incumbent will bring business analysis disciplines to bear on the CA processes, and acts as an agent of change, leveraging best practices to meet cost savings and revenue targets.

The analyst must have experience with business process analysis, review, documentation and reengineering. The analyst will be analytical and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and problem solve across multiple projects. Additionally, the candidate must be highly skilled in working within financial services, with business clients, external parties, Technology, Sales and Marketing teams

The incumbent will not only make recommendations on improvement of business process, but will also make recommendations on how those business processes affect the workload, duties and responsibilities of the staff performing those duties and will work with managers and project teams to implement those changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize automated data analysis tools to review, document, and assess critical business processes for cost savings and revenue objectives.
  • managing fibre telecom network capital projects within scope, on time and on budget
  • Assess business case and deployment plan to develop project scope
  • collaborate with planning, engineering, procurement, build, and operations primes to prioritize and schedule project deliverables
  • manage competing priorities and multiple demands on time.
  • Lead regular meetings with stakeholders on resolving implementation issues, process gaps and variances, and develop action plans to manage changes or issues on projects
  • Develop dashboard metrics that provide data visualization/easy to understand format for process measurement and identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Regular reporting and communication on project status, milestones, budget, quality, and savings/revenue benefit realization with senior leaders, product managers and other stakeholders
  • Effectively manage change requests on projects
  • Manage risk within program and escalate issues where appropriate

Qualifications:

  • University degree preferably in business, engineering or computing
  • A Financial background and designation an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating GenAI and other automation technologies into business analysis and process improvement roles within the telecom industry.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in Business Analysis and/or Process (Re-)Engineering roles with project responsibilities, and a good understanding of project management methodologies, process/re-engineering improvement concepts, tools, practices, and procedures within telecom industry
  • Ability to work effectively without daily oversight and able to meet deadlines
  • A high energy, fast paced, “roll-up your sleeves” attitude and commitment to success are essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, with experience presenting and influencing others
  • Proficient in the use MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Project, Visio)
  • Ability to identify opportunities to use technology to add value and recognize and present opportunities for adoption of process efficiencies through automation to replace existing manual work (i.e. process re-engineering).
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail

Process Mapping and Design: Ability to gather input from diverse user groups and develop current/future state process maps.

Conceptual Thinking: Ability to make the complex simple or link together things not obviously related.

Written communication: Strong writing skills to support business recommendations and proposals; Communicating details such as the business requirements, requested changes, issues with impact assessment and recommendations.

Strong oral presentation skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Ability to clearly convey complex concepts and constructs in a straightforward manner.
