Job Description:

**PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION**

Leading Canadian Retail’s infrastructure team requires an Associate Project Manager. This team supports and implements a wide variety of technologies in the organisation, including Voice, UNIX, Mainframe, Windows, Linux, Desktop, Database, Integration Architecture, Web Services and Network Infrastructure.  As an Associate PM, you will be responsible for directing project staff from Infra team and tracking project deliverables throughout the project delivery lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall), ensuring that the technology needs of projects are delivered with agility, efficiency, effectiveness, and on budget.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work with project PM, business, IT and vendors as the primary Infra team contact to manage large scale infrastructure deployment
  • Work with the business and IT team to scope, size and articulate project concepts into clear project objectives
  • Adhere to a structured, PM methodology
  • Collaborate with IT Technology Planners to develop project plans at a task, milestone, and resource level in an Agile SDLC and completion of project documentation
  • Work in partnership with Functional Managers within IT team to obtain the necessary skill sets and resources
  • Assess, plan and engage project resources as needed throughout the project life cycle
  • Track and manage established plans to ensure all deliverables are met
  • Manage project scope using documented change management techniques
  • Motivate, Manage and lead project team in a distributed agile software delivery model
  • Delivery Management of project tasks and deliverables according to time and cost parameters
  • Team engagement on an ongoing basis to identify and manage project issues, risks and action plans

Desired profile:

  • 5+ years of exp working on complex and large IT projects
  • Experience working with vendors to deploy technology and manage escalations of issues
  • Data centre technologies background
  • Prior experience of managing small to medium projects
  • Core PM competencies: scope management, timely decision making, cost and risk management, effective team building, ability to prioritize, delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities
  • Experience in SDLC and PM methodologies
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Project skills; Project Management designation an asset
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
