Job Description:

Plexxus serves a diverse group of hospitals consisting of specialty, community based, academic and research hospitals. Plexxus Member hospitals include: Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Lakeridge Health, North York General, Sinai Health System, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Scarborough and Rouge Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto East Health Network, University Health Network, and Women’s College Hospital. Plexxus Customer hospitals include: Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Mackenzie Health, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Southlake Regional Health Centre, and Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

Plexxus provides the following services to its hospitals:

Transactional Services- distribution, in hospital logistics, purchasing, accounts payable, customer service, product support

Strategic Services - sourcing, spend management, supplier management, contract management, innovation & strategic partnerships

Support and Enablement Services - finance & corporate services, customer relationship management, information technology

The Contract Data Analyst role is aligned with many teams to help them achieve their goals. Whether you're measuring hospital performance, analyzing customer behavior and trends, data mining, or optimizing MS Access queries, working in this role is a premier opportunity to develop a career in business and big data analytics.

Accountabilities:

Consulting with internal customers (e.g., Procurement, finance and the member hospitals) to develop analyses that lead to actionable insights that accelerate savings

Wrangling data from multiple sources including sales, contracts, product, and customer databases to create integrated views that can be used to drive decision making

Designing and building reports and analyses in Excel

Analyze purchase order receipt data and verify alignment with financial system data

Review SQL database via MS Access to identify and resolve issues and ensure data integrity is maintained

Perform database uploads and updates

Requesting information on an adhoc basis from suppliers

Answering queries from clients (hospitals)

 
Qualifications:  

Highly analytical data junkie

Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude

Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems

Strong written and verbal communication

2 - 4 years working experience (can include co-op placements)

Strong detail orientation and proven accuracy in working with data

Proven ability to understand how data links within the system and to question unreasonable data

Ability to balance attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines

Strong focus on delivering results

Proven mathematical aptitude

Self motivated with demonstrated initiative; ability to work cross-functionally

Demonstrated awareness of team activities and work linkages

Familiarity with business terms (unit of measure, purchase order, product codes)

Intermediate MS Excel skills;basic MS Access skills
