Job Description:

Reporting to the site Plant Manager, this position leads and sets the direction for Production Planning teams to meet plant goals in safety, environmental performance, raw material yields, production rates, and return on investment. This position focuses on all aspects of the daily technical and operational issues to ensure production volumes, product quality and delivery dates for clients are in accordance to the Production Plan.


  • Responsible to lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that will drive production costs down, reach ideal product yields, increase plant availability in coordination with the Maintenance Engineering Manager and the Senior Process Engineers,

  • Manage the operational budget and seek opportunities to achieve pace setting costs for all production lines.

  • Plan production start dates run dates and completion dates of products according to customer requirements.

  • Estimate material and labor requirements for production and issue work orders per production schedule.

  • Review and evaluate the status of assigned projects, expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions (e.g., where resources/raw materials do not arrive as planned or when equipment fails).

  • Ensure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders and liaise with Customer Service/Inside Sales Representative and Shipping Department to coordinate the shipment of finished products.

  • Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods.

  • Seek opportunities for improvement on the operational routines to obtain improved yields from raw materials, higher production reliability and optimum production rates per product.

  • Provide performance feedback to team and coach others on how to promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution.
