Job Description:

NETWORK AND COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in network design and implementation
  • Install and configure computer and network equipment
  • Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations at all sites
  • Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications and settings
  • Provide technical support to staff
  • Repairs of laptops, PC desktop hardware, printers, and other peripherals
  • Develop and apply images on new laptops and desktops
  • Develop and monitor IT policies and guidelines
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades
  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance
  • Create and maintain network user accounts, permissions, emails, etc.
  • Manage computer fleet, printers, licenses, IT warranty and support/vendor IT contracts
  • Carry out assessments to determine the need for changes in hardware/software configurations
  • Recommend purchase of new equipment
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on computer systems to ensure efficient operations

Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer science or equivalent experience (3-5 years).
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting a wide range of desktop/laptop hardware and software
  • Ability to diagnose problems, perform repairs on IT assets, and provide support for a wide range of applications
  • Understanding of networking concepts (eg: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with backup tools
  • Experience with routers and firewalls (eg: Cisco, SonicWall)
  • Experience with endpoint protection products
  • Excellent written, oral, and telephone communication skills
  • Able to communicate in user-friendly languageExceptional multi-tasking abilities and prioritization skills.
  • Team player able to work under pressure
