SWT takes pride in its design and manufacturing of mechatronics products, embedded systems, ASICs, wireless modules and IoT system solutions. As part of our continued growth, we currently have an opportunity for a results-driven Embedded Software Engineer who thrives on challenges and has a passion for excellence to join our winning team. This is a new critical dual role for our growing Organization. The role sits within an existing team who are responsible for taking the design from requirement and concept through development, prototyping and test until to mass production.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops embedded products by analysing customer requirements
  • Contribution to team effort toward design/develop the whole product
  • Design Firmware, Software modules, Test modules, Analog/Digital Electronics, Wireless
  • Design and develop using SWT toolchain in full compliance with SWT best practice
  • Design and develop in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards
  • Evaluates systems by applying knowledge of embedded software engineering
  • Identify and recommend product performance improvements
  • Actively participating in system integration (Electronics, Mechanic, Software, App, Cloud)
  • Provides support to other teams like App, Cloud computing, Test and Manufacturing to design or modify software/hardware modules for validation and production testers
  • Prepares technical reports by searching, collecting, analyzing and summarizing
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
  • Properly use and maintain equipment, software licences, infrastructure and data bases
  • Contribute and maintains product data base by releasing software designs, codes, test procedures, etc. under the compliance to SWT confidentiality policy
  • Develop new skills by self training or attending courses as per project requirement
  • Self-managed the scheduling of the projects 
  • Conduct the duties as per requested by direct manager
  • Some overseas business trips may occur

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have 4 to 6 years related job experience 
  • University degree in Engineering (Embedded software is preferable)
  • Successful completion of degree from accredited engineering program
  • Proficiency in firmware and embedded software programming (C, C++) 
  • Proficiency in Event-driven software architecture design (UML)
  • Experience with RTOS concepts, Event-handling and scheduling 
  • Experience with Microcontrollers, GPIO, Flash memory, UART, SPI, I2C
  • Experience in developing code on wireless chips e.g. BLE, WiFi, Sub-GHz, GPS, LoRa
  • Experience working with embedded toolchains (e.g. IDE, Compilers, Optimizers, Revision controls etc.)
  • Experience with one schematic design tool (Altium, Eagle, Cadence)   
  • Experience with design of embedded systems in the field of control, sensor, wireless, IoT  
  • Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python, Lua
  • Proven experience in design/develop embedded products, microcontrollers, bare metal software coding, software development and code sharing toolchains 
  • Experience in collaboration with other disciplines; Mechanical, App, Test, Production
