Private Fixed Income Operations is a department within the Investment Services and Operations area at SLC Management that is responsible for the administration and reporting of all non-public investments and loans to corporations situated in various locations globally. The investment portfolio of approximately $41 billion includes bonds, debentures, limited partnerships, lease securitization and project financing.
About the role:
The Specialist, Private Fixed Income Operations, is part of a team that is responsible for the administration and support of the Global Private Fixed Income Portfolio. Specifically, this includes the source system set up, funding, income collection, account reconciliation, cash management, security safekeeping and reporting of all Private Fixed Income assets held in various currencies and across multiple portfolios. The team works frequently and collaboratively with many different internal teams as well external agents, banks and custodians.
The successful applicant will work primarily with the Private Fixed Income Onboarding team which will include Private Placements, Private Securitization and Limited Partnership portfolios as well as support shared team tasks. This individual will also participate in business system upgrades, projects and other new initiatives as required and actively contribute in process improvement initiatives through the Brighter Way framework.
What will you do?
Collaborate with Private Fixed Income Front Office managers to process fundings, including the set up and settlement of transactions in the business system and the disbursement of funds to external parties.
Analyze and segment amortization schedules as received by external agents and/or Front Office managers.
Prepare early term prepayments of lease contracts, including verification of future cash flows and input in the business system.
Process income payments including reconciliations with external lease originators, withdrawing funds from the lease originator’s bank account and settling income on the business system as well as investigating and resolving variances.
Verify monthly portfolio reporting submitted by lease originators.
Process transactions related to the Limited Partnership portfolio including capital calls and income distributions.
Update information in the business system upon request.
Assist with general operational tasks as required:
Prepare daily cash projections
Prepare daily cash transfers (reserves)
Assist with the team’s retention requirements
Partner closely with team members and various internal areas to execute the deliverables outlined above.

Previous experience in an Investment or Finance administrative role is an asset.
Meticulous attention to detail – high degree of accuracy.

Excel proficiency – ability to create, manipulate, and interpret data/spreadsheets; comfortable working with formulas, vlookups, pivot tables.

Organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Frequent interaction with Private Fixed Income Accounting, Treasury Operations, and Portfolio Management.
