Summary of Position:
Best cost sourcing and planning for raw materials and suppliesto ensure production schedules are achieved
Specific Accountabilities:
- Live Core values
- Negotiate Supply Contracts for materials and services (non-meat)
- Prepare Supply Contracts and Purchase Orders (meat)
- Accountable for managing annual buys for Ingredients and Packaging
- Work with the Sales and Operations teams at both facilities to ensure the planned supplies for the short- and long-term schedule
- ERP – Data Management.
- Quota applications/ reconciliations
- Manage annual Beef / Chicken Quota Applications
- Manage yearly CAB Reconciliation
- Negotiate Transportation and freight
- Carrier and Warehouse claim administration
- Complete yearly USMCA(NAFTA) renewals
- Warehouse and Freight invoice validation
- Identify and implement Cost Saving Opportunities
- Execute RFP’s and Benchmarking exercises in all purchasing categories as required
- Ensure that all products are delivered in accordance with company specifications
- Cross training of others in your department
- Demonstrate Servant Leadership
- SQF and HACCP accountabilities
- Accountable for seeking continuous improvement to our programs and procedures
- Accountable for ensuring there is coverage for planned and unplanned absences which could compromise our policies, procedures, and programs

Ideal Qualifications
- College education with 2+ years Buying experience, preferably in the packaging or spice industry
- SCMP certification an asset
- Understanding of product costing
- Food industry experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all stakeholders
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent computer skills
