The opportunity Reporting to the VP, People & Culture, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of best-in-class recruitment strategies that deliver high caliber talent to help TVO achieve strategic and operational objectives. As a sourcing specialist, this role skillfully leverages social media to build talent pipelines and generate interest in a career with TVO. This role manages the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing through to onboarding, for external and internal talent at all levels and job types. As an advisor to leaders, this role works to solve a variety of complex staffing and resourcing related issues, and guides leaders to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, legal requirements and provisions under the collective agreements. A member of the People & Culture team, this role may also contribute to various employer branding and employee engagement initiatives. You are a recruitment and human resources professional with experience working in complex organizations. A self-directed, detail-oriented and creative thinker, you have a strong sense of urgency. You value continuous learning and are up to date on recruitment best practices and market trends. An excellent communicator and well networked individual, you use your highly developed social networking skills to find high caliber talent. Skilled at influencing others and at managing processes you consistently deliver positive timely results. Delivering a quality client experience and demonstrating a high degree of judgement are important to you. You are technically savvy with experience administering recruitment systems. How you will make an impact • Creatively source and build a pipeline of talented applicants • Independently manage the entire recruitment process, from initial request to onboarding • Partner with leaders to ensure appropriate recruitment and sourcing strategies are being implemented for an efficient and effective hiring process • Inform talent decisions with strong knowledge of TVO’s vision, Strategic Directions and business objectives • Work with hiring managers to draft job postings • Coach, provide guidance and contribute to the development of competent hiring managers in recruitment and selection best practices including selective/behavioural interviewing techniques, candidate assessment development and interpretation, etc. • Contribute to establishing and executing a social media communications strategy • Support the pre-qualification / assessment and interview process, including administering and interpreting psychometric assessments and referencing • Negotiate and prepare employment letters (including new hire offers, transfers, secondment agreements, etc.) • Coordinate secondments of candidates both internal and from the Ministry or school boards • Conduct career interviews and discussions with internal candidates, where appropriate advise employees and leaders in the creation of individual development plans • Administration of the Applicant Tracking system (UltiPro) and vendor management (including LinkedIn Recruiter) • Support the development and implementation of recruitment metrics and reporting • Ensure a positive internal and external applicant experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process • Stay abreast of leading recruitment practices and market trends • Act as an ambassador for TVO What you will bring to TVO • A University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience • 2+ yrs. recruiting in a candidate and client-centric environment • Demonstrated experience recruiting for difficult to fill positions e.g. IT and highly specialized roles • Demonstrated expertise in sourcing, recruiting and placement of talent • Proven experience evaluating applicants against the position requirements to ensure effective shortlisting of applicants • Experience providing internal and external applicant/candidate feedback • Experience creating and reviewing, amplifying and promoting career opportunities • Strong relationship management, influencing, collaboration and partnership skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self-directed and solution-oriented, taking the initiative to critically examine situations, highlight and mitigate risks, and provide recommendations • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Good judgment and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and diplomacy • A strong customer service orientation coupled with a healthy sense of urgency and initiative • You live our values: we value bold thinking, we embrace change, we thrive with diverse voices, we honour our commitments, we're better together Not sure you have everything we’re asking for, but know you can make a big impact?
