Retail Sales Analyst - Description

As a Retail Sales Analyst at Peter Igel Foods, you will play a critical role in continuously identifying new Retail & Food Service sales opportunities and helping to achieve our revenue goals.   In this role, you will be largely responsible for planning and executing sales pricing options at our existing customers as well as developing new markets, both in Retail and Food Service for us in Canada and the US.   Product ideation, sourcing and procurement will also be part of your role, helping our clients expand their private label product portfolios.  Additionally, you will have some account management responsibilities ensuring our customers are always getting the best value from their relationship with us.   You will be a critical member of our Sales team as we continue our organic growth.  If you have a history of successfully meeting and exceeding enterprise sales goals in these two channels of trade, and are aligned with our core values as described above, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Provide input for strategic sales plans that successfully achieve business objectives
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major contracts
Identify ideal pricing structures and sales funnels
Must have a good understanding of price increase analysis including National pricing requests from retailers
Draft strategic pricing plans and processes to improve existing projects
Create reports reflecting metrics and project status, objectives and barriers
Communicate findings effectively to relevant departments of the company
Work with the Supply Chain team to define pricing structure for any given commodity in order to establish best pricing options for the customer
Address issues and concerns raised by team members relating to pricing suggestions
Secure new customers and categories for growth.
Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals
Influence & support company Values
Participate in meetings and prepare weekly sales tracking reports.
Foster positive vendor and seller relationships


Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent experience
Experience working as a Sales analyst in the same industry
Keen eye for identifying opportunity
Strong knowledge about the industry including Brand and Private Label competitors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present strategy and results to staff members at every level of the organization
Excellent MS Office skills required, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Must be able to present data in summary format to the VP of Sales and Marketing
Ability to draft Power Point presentations which are easy to understand and illustrate the main messaging

Good negotiations and problem-solving skills
Effective reporting and verbal presentation skills
An absolute customer obsession with the ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients
Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing on critical sales contracts
Business savvy with an entrepreneurial mind set
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a strong team environment
Enthusiastic and proactive team player with a positive attitude who is also eenergetic, passionate and driven to succeed

This position requires the successful candidate to be in the office a minimum of two days per week but can be increased based on business needs at the sole discretion of the VP of Sales and Marketing
