Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies. Additionally, the role includes payroll-related tasks and cash management duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing:

Accurately and efficiently process invoices for payment while adhering to company guidelines.
Verify proper approvals, account coding, and documentation for all invoices.

Payment Management:

Prepare and execute check runs, electronic payments, and other payment methods.
Track weekly payments and maintain an outstanding payments checklist to ensure proper cash flow.

Reconciliation and Vendor Relations:

Reconcile vendor statements and promptly resolve discrepancies or payment issues.
Maintain positive vendor relationships and address payment inquiries in a professional manner.

Month-End Closing Support:

Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing accounts payable reports and reconciliations.

Payroll Support:

Perform payroll duties, including processing payroll payments and preparing Records of Employment (ROEs).

Cash Management:

Monitor and manage cash flow by tracking payments, ensuring accurate records, and providing insights for financial planning.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in accounts payable or a related role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and internal team interactions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with payroll processing and ROE preparation.
Familiarity with cash flow management and financial reporting.
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is an asset.
