Job Description:

Auditor, Audit Services, Manulife Bank - Waterloo

The Auditor is responsible for executing audit work, primarily within the Manulife Bank business. Specific areas of work will include key risk audits and SOX. 

Responsibilities include:

Manage work within time budgets and target dates, reporting any timing problems or budget over-runs to the Manager or Director.
Conduct interviews with business unit management regarding risks and controls in their area.
Conduct testing of controls and assessing control effectiveness while ensuring documentation of audit work meets department standards.
Assist in presenting findings and recommendations to audit management.
Follow up on open audit issues until resolved.
Utilize technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of audit process.

Mandatory Qualifications:

University degree required
2 to 4 years of internal/external audit or equivalent business experience

Other Information:

Working towards a recognized accounting designation - preferred (CPA, CA);
Well developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Self-starter with the ability to lead, and motivate others to achieve results while working in a deadline oriented environment;
Good knowledge of audit methodologies, project management and system development methodologies, control frameworks and risk management practices, and regulatory requirements;
Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make value-added and practical recommendations.
