We’re looking for Summer Interns!
Succeed as an Emerging Talent at Loblaw! We provide you with opportunities to develop your skills, network and gain knowledge across all of our divisions within the enterprise! Students are also encouraged to participate in events across the enterprise including learning sessions, community events and activities led by our student-led intern committee during the summer term.
Finance & Accounting Summer Intern – What will you do?
Learn and gain hands-on experience across teams in Finance & Accounting
Support teams with activities such as:
- Preparing deliverables and assist in the preparation of components of financial reports
- Support financial planning process, updating of team specific financial information
- Working with data to help support decision-making and drive efficiency
- Play a key role in the communication with internal and external business partners.
- Opportunity to support special projects such as financial process automation
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Strong documentation, organization and project management skills
- Proven track record of teamwork, initiative and ownership to drive processes and solve problems
- Ability to learn in a quick paced environment and engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially with handling sensitive documents and company information
- Strong technical familiarity with all Microsoft Office programs
- Academic background in a related degree with exposure to Business or Statistics courses is considered an asset
- You are between 15 – 22 years old
- You are an existing retail employee at one of Loblaw or Shoppers Drug Mart stores in the Greater Toronto Area.
- You have a minimum High School diploma and looking to start your career in Finance & Accounting
About the internship
Application Deadline: April 7th, 2023
Duration of the internship: May 15th – August 18th, 2023
This is a hybrid position: As of March 2022 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 2 days a week, while spending the other 3 days in the office.
