SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT INTERN
The Procurement Services section of the Corporate Business Services Division is looking for one intern to support the advancement of sustainable procurement initiatives at the City. The Intern will help advance priorities around supplier diversity, training, measurement and help with policy and other sustainable procurement initiatives.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in sustainability, environmental studies, environmental science, geography, environmental education or related field.
Special consideration will be given to candidates that have previous related experience in sustainability research, strategy and/or policy development as well as an interest and/or experience in procurement, collaboration with stakeholders and communication.
Excellent organization and time management skills are required.
Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with report writing and data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
Demonstrated ability to apply excellent customer service skills with the public and City staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Sustainable Procurement Consultant, the successful candidate will:
Research, benchmark and develop recommendations around supplier diversity and circular procurement.
Assist with the development of training materials related to the City’s Sustainable Procurement Policy.
Analyze data, compile and summarize results on topics related to sustainable procurement.
Assist with the development of performance measures and supplier engagement.
Assist with presentation preparation and other administrative duties.
Collaborate with internal groups and external groups to help forward sustainable procurement initiatives.
Provide quality customer service and act as a knowledgeable resource.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a hybrid work position, with an expected three (3) days in office, two (2) days remote. A laptop will be provided.
