Job Summary
The Recent Graduate – Operations & Inventory Support provides day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Security Systems team, with a strong focus on inventory and asset management. This entry-level role supports routine operational activities, maintains accurate inventory records, assists with documentation and reporting, and provides basic customer and technical support under guidance from senior staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Team Support
• Support supervisors and team members with daily operational and administrative tasks
• Respond to email, phone, and in-person inquiries, escalating issues when required
• Perform data entry, filing, documentation updates, and record maintenance
• Support reporting and tracking activities using spreadsheets and internal systems
• Assist with problem identification and basic troubleshooting
• Follow established procedures, safety standards, and departmental guidelines
Inventory & Asset Management
• Maintain and update inventory and asset tracking records
• Support receiving, labeling, tagging, storing, and issuing security equipment
• Print inventory labels and tag equipment in the field as required
• Perform regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations
• Identify and report missing, damaged, or low-stock items
• Assist with equipment preparation, deployment, returns, and storage
• Support basic logistics related to inventory movement between sites and storage areas
Operational & Administrative Support
• Draft and update basic documents, checklists, and status reports
• Assist with data collection and research related to operational needs
• Support site visits and internal inspections under direction
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with internal processes
Skills and Qualifications Required
• Recent graduate (within the last 1–2 years) of a college or university program related to IT, electronics, operations, supply chain, business, or a related field
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling inventory and asset records
• Willingness to learn and follow established procedures
Preferred / Assets
• Experience or familiarity with inventory systems, asset management tools, or ticketing systems
• Basic reporting or analytical skills
• Interest in security systems, IT support, facilities, or operations
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites (if applicable)
Working Conditions
• The nature of the role requires attending various city sites and storage locations
• Light lifting of equipment or supplies may be required
